"Welcome Norwayne Alumni & Friends"

The Norwayne Alumni & Friends web site was created in 2009 as a gift to the Norwayne Alumni and Friends organization by the Norwayne class of 1969 to commemorate their 40th year reunion.

The class of 1969 dedicates this site to all Norwayne Alumni & Friends. Please use and enjoy the site as a means to stay in touch with schoolmates, classmates, family and friends. We also hope that you will share information and contribute financially to the goals of The Norwayne Alumni & Friends organization.

IN SYMPATHY -  Death of Ms. AILEEN COX JONES

July 28, 1946  -  June 25, 2015

Aileen Cox Jones, 68, 605 Longleaf Ave., Goldsboro, NC died Thursday June 25 at home.
 She was a member of the Norwaye Class 1964 and a  Life Subscribing Member of Norwayne Alumni & Friends, Inc.

Funeral will be Monday, June 29, 2015 at 1 p.m. at First African Missionary Baptist Church, 803 Harris St, Goldsboro, NC with Apostle Walter Barbour officiating.
Burial will be in Wayne Memorial Park.

Wake service:  Sunday, June 28, 2015  from  5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at  First African Missionary Baptist Church.

She was born July 28, 1946, in Wayne County to the late Samuel and Lee Ann Coor Cox.

 

She is survived by three children (Juanita Boyd (William), Kimberly Ashby (Robert) and son, Damion Artis.
Surviving Siblings are:    Samuel L. Cox Jr. (Aymee);  Claretta C. Newsome (Bernard);  Marvin (Lynn);   James Emmett (Brenda);   Johnnie Lee;  Walker M. (Jacqueline);  Jesse L. (Teresa); 
Shaheed Abdur-Rahman;  Joddie Ann Davis (Roderick);  Phillip  and  Curtis P. (Tammy).     Claretta is a Lifetime Member of Norwayne Alumni & Friends, Inc.
She was married to the late Thurman Artis, her high school sweetheart.

Arrangements are by Haskins Funeral Home, Goldsboro, NC.

It is with Great Joy and a dash of sorrow that I pass along the news of the passing of dear friend and classmate Aileen Cox Jones. 
Speaking with  daughter, Kimberly, I am advised that I may at this time share:
     Aileen died peacefully during the night, at home
     God's loving care and her family surrounded her
